My name is George and I with the help of my wife Carolyn run Paws & More. I am originally from the London area and am an ex secondary school teacher, I have taught art and in that time led my own department for 14 years.
I decided the time is right to follow my passion for animals and leave teaching to become a full time pet care provider. I have been walking dogs professionally since August 2013 and opened up my own business in January 2014, although I am new to the business side of things I have had dogs, cats and fish all of my life. I have been employed as a dog walker and have references available on request. I am currently studying for a diploma in animal psychology, specialising in dogs mainly, but including small animals.
We are fully insured, licensed by Cornwall Council and have a DBS certificate. We hold up to date canine and pet first aid certificates and have completed practical courses and demonstrated our skills on a practical level. We have 5 dogs, 4 cats and three chickens.
Our company is based on the belief that our customers’ and their pets needs are of the utmost importance. We are committed to providing a friendly, flexible pet service in the St Austell and surrounding areas.
We have been rated in the top three dog walkers in Cornwall for two years running. We love animals of all shapes and sizes and we will treat your pets as if they were our own.
At Paws & More we take animal welfare seriously and have successfully fostered over 25 dogs and helped them go on to have happy lives with new owners. We are currently fostering an elderly pug with mobility issues for Pug Welfare.
We have introduced a training school run by Carolyn. Carolyn has successfully completed training courses with the institute of modern dog trainers has run a range of classes to suit every owners needs. Carolyn is currently taking a break from training classes and introducing training walks. Training walks are up to a maximum of four dogs meeting in a safe environment, where Carolyn teaches real life skills in real life situations. Dogs with specific issues can attend or even dogs that need to be guided with loose lead walking. Puppies can mix or come to separate puppy walks, where recall, loose lead walking, problem solving tips and training is given. Carolyn is currently completing a diploma course in Animal Psychology.
I am passionate about giving dogs the best chances and believe in feeding dogs species appropriate diets, therefore I am planning a diploma in animal nutrition in the future.
